Onboard InTouch Support and Program Modification for FPSO

Plant Werx developed an HMI solution for an FPSO’s On-board Monitoring Telemetry System (OMTS), enabling seamless oil and gas offloading to tankers. The goal was to create a reliable HMI system that integrates with a third-party PLC vendor’s OMTS.

Facing tight deadlines, we designed, tested, and deployed an AVEVA InTouch HMI application using the Modbus protocol for robust communication.

The solution ensures real-time data exchange, enhancing operational efficiency. With successful deployment, the system now provides reliable monitoring and control for FPSO operations.

Downtime Logging System Replacing Manual Method for an F&B Manufacturer

Plant Werx developed a downtime logging system for a food and beverage manufacturer, replacing manual tracking with an automated solution. Using AVEVA InTouch HMI, Microsoft SQL Database, and SQL Server Reporting, we created a custom interface to monitor machine statuses and log downtime causes post-event. The system enables accurate, unsupervised event recording and generates automated reports for easy data retrieval. This customized solution improves efficiency by allowing operators to enter comments after downtime occurs—a feature not typically available in standard systems.

Overcoming Legacy Challenges

Plant Werx modernized SCADA systems for an F&B client in 2018, upgrading software, deploying migrated systems, and decommissioning legacy infrastructure. Overcoming challenges like obsolete Windows XP plugins, we replaced them with AVEVA System Platform tools and provided ongoing support.

Our solutions ensured scalable automation, operational efficiency, and seamless maintenance for future upgrades.
