Overcoming Legacy Challenges

In 2018, Plant Werx was engaged to provide PLC and SCADA automation services for our Food and Beverage (F&B) customer’s facilities and utilities. The project aimed to modernize the existing SCADA system while ensuring seamless operations.

Key Objectives

• Upgrade SCADA software to newer version
• Fully deploy the migrated system
• Decommission outdated legacy system

Challenges Faced

The project encountered several hurdles, including:

• Obsolete legacy plugins from the Windows XP era
• Development completed on time, and partial deployment in 2020, followed by delays in other aspects of the project due to external factors

Solutions Implemented by Plant Werx

To address these challenges, we implemented the following measures:

• Replacement of the obsolete plugins with built-in tools for AVEVA System Platform
• Continued proactive follow-ups with the customer to monitor progress
• Provided ongoing on-site support from our engineering team as needed
